Hi everyone,
I have a Virgin super hub 2 which at the moment is running great,I know everything is covered,as in if it breaks Virgin will replace it,but OH wants a backup router, cos you never know how long it will take them to replace it and he cannot live without online access at the moment!!
The back up router does not have to be as good as the one we have now,but having a quick look on eBay made me wonder if there are any specifications I should look out for, just so it is compatible and will actually work?
If any answers could be kept nice and simple,I am not too tech minded at the best of times!
Thanks for reading,and any answers

You presumably have a cable router so you need to get the replacement that is also cable input. I think there are limited specs for these things so, even though I do not profess to a deep knowledge of them, I think if you get a well known name with the cable interface it'll probably do what you want. You may wish to check it has WiFi if you need wireless connection of stuff. You may find good info on the broadband / router comparison sites out there.

Thank you,of course I forgot to check the cable input thingy would be the same.I think if I get a super hub,(not the super hub 2,none seem to be on any sites, probably cos they are so new) I should be ok.
I think you should change your name to Wise Old_Geezer,cos you do have words of wisdom!
Thanks again

The Virgin hub is also a modem, so any other router would have to be connected to the Virgin hub anyway.
