(Not exactly 'high class literature' but, like all of the other books in the series, incredibly funny and brilliantly written!)
The land of painted caves by Jean Auel
Mary Queen of Scots by (Lady) Antonia Fraser.
Still working through 'Tragically, I was an Only Twin' one of the funniest books I have read in a long time.
I just picked up Syren by Angie Sage from the library. Just a bit of light reading for the fun of it.

dr b,i think my son would like that one,he is sitting his exams about that tomorrow
Slinky I am about halfway through it and struggling a bit. I dont think its a patch on the others and doesnt really add anything to the story of Ayla. May get better in the second half but at the moment there is just a lot of wandering about going on to no great purpose but i will persevere as I hate giving up on books. Let me know what you think when you read it please
Climbing the mango trees by Madhur Jaffrey. I like the sound of the Robert Douglas one though. I might try and get that.
Sorry to stray a bit slinky, Daisy I posted in books and authors to ask what you thought of Painted caves as I am finding it heavy going
Don't feel bad Dr B, I read all of Asimov's non-fiction for the geek humor.
Question Author

The Hanging Shed by Gordon Ferris, that's set in Glasgow too..............
I have a Val McDermid The Grave Tattoo on the go, and also the Autobiography of Peter Ustinov. That book sounds Ok slinky.
I've been reading Dear Fatty - Dawn French.

I also read these tonight - the crunching, munching caterpillar and We're wearing out the naughty step - both very good :p
