Ive only read the first Simon Serrailler...I should try to catch up. But her ghost stories are not to be missed if you like a bit of old fashioned chills. Loved the Woman in Black, but haven't got very far with any of her other books.
Question Author
I've not read the Woman in Black, but I'd recommend her crime novels, if you like crime that is !
I do like crime novels, so I'll give hers a try.
Any particular suggestions?
I have to say that I found the book of the Woman in Black far more scary than the film or the TV/radio adaptations I have seen or heard.
I'd recommend it...if you like scary!
I have enjoyed a couple of her short novels recently. Black Sheep and The Beacon are both good reads.
^^^^ these are not crime novels by the way.

I agree pasta, I LOVE her style. I don't really like reading scary books as I find I don't find them scary at all! I much preferred the TV version of Woman in Black to the film version, I thought that very scary indeed !
One of my reccomendations didn't print...

Her ghost stories are good because they are based on the atmosphere she creates, and the readers imagination.

Thanks pasta.
Nothing beats the stage version of Woman in Black. Its a delight and for anyone who hasn't seen it, I recommend it when it comes to a theatre near you.

Maydup, I saw it and I absolutely hated it, I was bored to death! My favourite is still the TV version which I thought was exceptional.
Do try Dolly and The Man in the Picture...both wee chillers.
I've just finished a rather long book that never grabbed me,so I'm going to read The Mist in the Mirror.
Never read any - but will try her out seeing she's so much recommended here.
Question Author
