never noticed
Question Author
i have noticed, it is hard not to when you glance up and see a post in the recent posts section which then doesn't appear on the site,

and also where is the adverts section that gets posted in i have looked for it in topics list and also beta?

has anyone else noticed anything like this?,if not, then if you do feel free to respondez?sil vous plait.
I think its just as soon as someone posts it it just takes a bit of time. Maybe stop being so impatient :-)
Question Author
no sorry, patience 4g's, doesn't come into it, as i said, occasionally the post takes a few seconds to appear sometimes but disappearing posts are another thing altogether.

if they have been accepted onto the posting list, they shouldn't disappear, we as posters on AB should not see posts disappear once they have been accepted, that is not the aim of any public website. (geez!)
but the aim is also to keep people happy so some have to disapear, I cant say its ever bothered me that much. Chill and go get a cuppa :-)
what happens when you click on them in the recent post list. Do you get the answerbank logo and something saying the page isnt available?
Thats what happens if a thread has been deleted or reported and removed.
Question Author
yeah, im chilled 4g's :0)

no as i say, if it is accepted for approval onto a recent posts list then it should appear on the site,if it was not accepted for approval and didn't appear on the posting list then we as AB'ers would be none the wiser. but yet it appears then disappears..........hhhhmmmmm?
You've lost me :-)
i dont agree that just because its been posted that it should be available for viewing. What if the post you see in recent posts was, for instance, and answer to something rather disgusting, sexually explicit or something. Would you still rather see it there until everyones replies had been read?
Question Author
how can something that has been accepted then be reported before it has even been posted on line?

who could report this before it has even appeared online? if the eds have accepted it, why does it disappear between the time of submittance (is that a word?!) acceptance and admittance on to a public website?

how do you know its a new thread? and not just an added post. the whole thread may have been banned. No point in leaving a reply without a question is there?
Question Author
because new threads go on to the recent posts list. they have just been submitted 1 minute ago, 2 minutes ago 99 minutes ago and so on, thats the purpose of the new post list to let you know who has posted and what time.

if a post was banned why would it be accepted onto the new post list?(as above)

if the question is accepted onto the website following the laws of logic it should appear.

thats not just new threads but new posts! Its perfectly possible to post an answer, it appear on the recent posts (not threads) list and then get banned
Question Author
as will (hopefully?!) this post.

:0)
I;m still lost
The recent posts section will be read from a different part of the database to the post proper. Clearly this summary area is updated before the main area.
Question Author
accepted onto the post lists means accepted then to disappear whilst on the posting list (i.e as it has been accepted onto the website) it cannot logically be banned before it has left the posting list, i.e it has been accepted as a posting then has not been posted, who could ban this? before it has appeared onto the site/ or onto any thread?

I think we are all confused now, including jojo.

jojo, perhaps you could contact the technical team via the contact us button at bottom of screen. They will be able to explain this to you in a more thorough way
Question Author
i asked why a post would appear in the recent post list then not be on the website?
