Dear Ab Ed. Why do you continually allow certain users of AB to get away with ageist comments and insults?

Amongst these lately,. have been things like 'old people shouldn't be allowed in supermarkets', 'old people shouldn't be allowed to drive', 'have you taken your Complan yet?', 'I bet you smell of wee' etc.

You wouldn't allow any user to make comments about race or skin colour because you would say that was racism.

So why do you allow ageism?

I have no intention of registering a complaint against any individual, as I think it's about time you put this in terms of use, then it would cover everyone.

Your thoughts, Ed?

Well she's got the vintage lingerie bit right - My knickers are knee length and go up to the armpits in a lovely shade of off white and aertex - I'm a sight to behold really I am. I query the 18 bit though!!!
Ha 'Neti's Naughtie Nikkers' good name for a Lingeries shop methinks!

oh soo sorry about this lot 10CSt but we thrive on ageism, only way to get revenge on the whippersnappers

C'mon biddies... & Vinny, get your tracky bottoms on it's lunchtime, time to head to the supermarkets & hold up the queues, hope none of you have washed yet.....

....18 eh? well, I'm the nearest.....don't want to rub it in or anything...

The one thing that us oldies can do is take the micky out of ourselves - not something the youngsters are good at!

Thanks for the reminder about the shopping Robinia. Just off now with my shopping trolley to get some more Tena Lady and my Sanatogen. Almost missed the lunchtime fun:

Quite serious 10ClarionSt, it's nice to see someone taking a stand against ageism. It goes on all the time and is very difficult to prove, especially in the work place.

The one good thing is that us oldies know that the vast majority of people who practice ageism are going to get old one day - it's a fact of life. Perhaps they should bear that in mind!

We have been proved to be a valuable asset in the work place. We generally are more conscientious, work harder and don't take time off. We have a wealth of experience and treat people with respect. (Most of the Time!). Sometimes we can be frustrating and awkward, but then so can youngsters.

People should be seen for what they are, not what age they are.

Thanks again.

That is, of course gessoo when we are not holding up the supermarket queues, or wandering about aimlessly muttering to ourselves (and of course stinking of wee!)

And we can still get down and boogie..!!!!

hehe

(:O)

Yes vinny we can still get down and boogy but we can't get back up again!!!!!
No wonder...if yer knickers go up to ya armpits....hahaha...(:-)

My wholehearted support here 10CST .I know we disagree on fireworks(Lol) but some threads lately are a bit out of order.
Drunken ramblings perhaps but nevertheless anyone reading them could be upset by the content..but you musn't complain must you ? Because you get a further slagging off.Personally I am sick of these people who think it's funny to comment on peoples ages ,race, weight ,sexual orientation etc etc.albeit " tongue in cheek" as they say when challenged. They must lead pretty sad lives if all they can do to amuse themselves is criticise others .
We all have to get old ..God willing ...a bit more tolerance all round and we wouldn' t have so much hate and discontent in the world.
Here endeth the lesson.xx

A bit late popping in, but us older ones still have so much to offer - it's just a shame we get sidelined by younger inexperienced people, some (I said some) of which do not have the expertise, maturity or common sense that is necessary in the workplace!

gessoo - have reported your posts for you, not sure where they're supposed to go tho', as there wasn't an incorrect category on the list, so clicked the chatty thread one, hope the Ed will know what you meant!

Oh no gessoo - just re-read that you asked for your posts to be reported if anyone found them offensive - well I didn't, but thought I was helping in getting them transfrred to where you would have liked them to appear - apologies for that!

P'raps you could email the Ed & ask for them to be transferred to BiddyBank, (can't find that under suggestions) rather than disappear......

10Clarion - stop whinging, you old g!t.

Do grow up spinchimp. If you can't think of anything constructive to say, don't say anything.
