As threatened, here is another link with more details of Boris’s and other Tory government ministers lies.

In this link (courtesy of tonyav) is the following information:-

‘Mr Johnson and his ministers have made at least 27 false statements to parliament since the 2019 election, and have failed to correct them.
A recent investigation by The Independent – working with Full Fact – has found that the prime minister made 17 of these statements.
None of the statements has been formally corrected – a process that is required under the ministerial code. Will Moy, chief executive of Full Fact, said it amounted to a “crisis of dishonesty”.’

(again, well worth a read)

For anyone who as not accessed the earlier link – here it is again.

Note for TTT, if I was a Tory supporter – I would do everything possible to stop people posting negative articles about them, especially in the run up to the local elections.

This is boring. People who think Boris Johnson doesn't tell lies can't be reasoned with, much like Trump supporters. I wouldn't bother.

He repeated the false claim about more folk being in employment now than before the pandemic in the most recent PMQs.
Good God, you really are obsessed. You are not doing yourself or your cause any good you know.

well most of them are not by Boris and none of them are lies. Opinions, predictions, beliefs. If it helps your literacy, pick one and I'll demonstrate why it's not a lie. OK?
YMB don't worry, all he's doing is posting the same tripe each time and making himself look an ever bigger plonker.

What about
his claim that there are, “more people in work than there were before the pandemic”?

The UK Statistics Authority Chairman, Sir David Norgrove, e-mailed the Prime Minister nearly two month ago saying, “it is wrong to claim that there are now more people in work than before the pandemic began”.

How then, is his claim one of his, “Opinions, predictions, beliefs.”?
12.27. Oh the Irony. PMSL.
Hymie, I would suggest you go to night school and learn to read and write properly.
Care to demonstrate why the higher employment claim is not a lie?

Because TTT believes it is not a lie.
The thing which changes "opinions, predictions or beliefs" into untruths is the language used.

Stating that something "will happen" by a particular date is an exact statement. Stating that something is "Expected to start" by a particular date is a belief.

If the PM, or anybody else for that matter, is uncertain of a particular event or expressing a belief, than they should not express it as a factual statement.

mozz, we often use technically factual statements to offer opinions or beliefs. Eg "The Tories will win the next election" is an opinion/belief, if it does not come to pass that does not make it a lie. It's more common with speech that with the written word but it's a feature of English. I would never say instead, "I think the Tories would win the next election" I just say they will, in the same way football fans say their team "will" win the cup or whatever!
Are you not able to demonstrate the employment claim was a lie then?
According to Full Fact there are more pay-rolled employees now than pre-pandemic. Perhaps that's what Boris meant. Other figures include the self-employed who are, obviously, not 'employees' and therefore not on anyone's pay-roll.

https://fullfact.org/economy/employment-november-2021/

These petty, picky arguments are becoming really tedious.
The self-employed are in work and he claimed there were more folk in work now than before the pandemic.

He was telt almost two month ago the claim was false but perhaps like TORATORATORA, he believes that constant repetition will make folk believe a lie.
Naomi, indeed, we cannot know what encompasses the figures quoted by either quoter. We don't know what is included by one and not the other.

So when Boris said something that was a lie – he meant to say something else; are you kidding me?
Corby, the self-employed are not ‘employees’. For goodness sake stop nit-picking. You’re offered a reasonable explanation but still you look for something to poke at. You lot remind me of spiteful little schoolboy snitches.
By what I've seen on here there are a lot of spiteful schoolgirls sometimes when Harry and Meghan become a topic. Whatever turns you on I guess.
hymie: "So when Boris said something that was a lie – he meant to say something else; are you kidding me? " - what are you talking about?
