That lots of questions have been abbreviated, has this just happened?!

Yes. It is the Oliver Twist Syndrome. You want [more] ?

In fact the first Qu that I saw it on was about recycling and the [more] link was to the same question.  I thought it was just a joke about recycly by the poster.  Then I noticed it on other posts as well.

If that job is now done, it means that our request for a Silver Surfers' section must be one rung closer to the top.  . . . but I wonder what else is lurking inbetween.

Hi All,

Yup, one of our Heavies was so kind as to nip our Questions in at the waist, giving them a more respectable silhouette. Classy, don'tcha think?

Yep ed, classy indeed! Any chance they could do the same for me?! My waist could sure do with it!!

was going to post an attaboy to the heavies for doing this....actually it reverts to the way things were in the dim distant past (hint hint) a past so long ago that only the Siver Surfers would remember (hint hint)
I saw Oliver Twist at the midnight hour. He cried 'Please sir, I want some more, more, more.'
Ooh MargeB, lovely singing lol

Got to be honest Ed - Personally not keen on it - I find it difficult to browse questions this way.

Just my opinion though

It might save a little bit of space - but I agree with Oneeyedvic, not keen on it for browsing purposes.

I don't really mind it, although I know what you mean about reading the questions!  Equally though I did find it annoying when someone posted a 2000 line joke as a question....okay slight exageration! Anyway thanks to all for replies.

PS Morning ED.....was more than a little dissapointed to awake this morning only to find that the heavies had'nt visited me in the night and done anything about my waistline!!

Yes I agree in part with smudge and Oneeyedvic - it's a bit difficult to guess where some questions are going from a couple of lines. But I do agree that very long problem type Q's need abbreviating & jokes need chopping off completely after the first line!  That's going to make me popular but I've heard 'em all before, I'm very old!!

Snap Robinia - I usually skip past the jokes for the same reasons!

P.S. Like everything else in life - no doubt we'll soon get used to the new abbreviations!
I was going to post my own thing on this, but thought I'd tag my disapproval on the end of here.

It adds clicks to the site which makes navigation worse.
It'd be great if (in editing your profile) that you could opt to see the questions in full and never have to see a "more" link.
I don't like them one little bit but this way, others could continue with what they see as an improvement.

If AB are keen on it then another option would be to have the default option for new users as "yes" to "more" links appearing.
