Blow it. There is a situation, don't quite understand it yet, something to do with the 'state' of the submit button, such that your answer will be submitted every time you press the space bar, so between words. It is a nuisance, and the robots think you are spamming. If you think that has happened (twice to me, and just now again) look in your profile at questions you have given answers to and you will see the culprit with many more answers listed than in the 'live' thread.  I expect to be suspended for a while now.

Has anyone else come across this ?

Oh yes, mfewell and I call it a case of The Hiccups.
yes happened to me six times in one answer so in profile got six answers removed
happens frequently, though not constantly, and seems to be a problem with AB rather than with users' PCs. The AB robots will delete most of the duplicate posts. Unfortunately, as you say, they'll sometimes suspend you for a while as well, for overposting, which could possibly give you grounds  for legal action under the Human Rights Act, cyberspace subsection.
I'd never thought of that, jno - yes, legal action under the Human Rights Act. I'm going to have a word with acw, mind you she's not been much use up until now!!!
yes its happened to me    -   twice last week and then again this morning.  As my rep on here isnt very good to start with I can only say it was and always has been a complete accident.  Thanks for your comment too jno, I thought it was my pc going bananas
