Please don't do that. You can very quickly get to the latest post by clicking on 'last by (username) in the opening post.
I have to agree with beso, at least you can read the answer last posted and not have to click on the last page and scroll down.

Hc I don't think you can do that from LATEST POSTS only from the list of posts in relevant section as I've looked for what you say and it doesn't come up from the latest posts lists on the r h side.
Daisya, simply click on the link in the 'latest post' column then click on 'last post by' in the opening post.

Not all of us are here 24/7 to keep up with each and every post and the logical place to start is the beginning, not the end.
Thanks HC but I can't see "last post by" only page numbers and last so I don't know where I should be looking after it takes you to the post from "latest posts".
Okay, in this one just click 'last' under the submit button.

h4361 You really don't get it do you?

Latest Posts is the box in the top right hand corner. The ONLY link there is a link to the first page of the thread. If the thread has more than one page then it is necessary tp click the LAst lisk and scroll to the bottom. It is clumsy and pointless when most peole following a thread and noticing a new post are interested in the last post.

It makes far more sense for the link in the "Latest Posts" to actually link to the Latest Post don't you think? Otherwise change the the title to "Recently Active Thread".

Getting there in two steps might be nothing to someone with a 24Mbs connection but it is a pain for those of us on a connection that is supposed to be 256Kbs but in practice is considerably slower.

It is also a waste of server resources to send an unwanted page just so the user can get a link to the last page.
