Good day everyone!

I hope everyone is well. A few bits a bobs to make you aware of this week:

1. We've had a few comments about the site being slow recently. I haven't noticed it personally, but I have asked the technical team to consider taking a little while to optimize after the next update. I'll keep you aware of further developments, and please offer feedback if you notice anything in particular being slow.

2. I'd appreciate a few thoughts and votes on this poll: http://www.theanswerb.../Question1057107.html (vote early, vote often)

3. Know anyone having issues with posting answers on AB? They probably need to upgrade their browser from Internet Explorer 6, there's a guide here: http://www.theanswerb...our-internet-browser/

4. You may have noticed the poll early in the week dedicated to Christmas shopping, you can still discuss it here: http://www.theanswerb.../Question1056817.html In other C-word related news, I've fixed the Christmas section: http://www.theanswerb...k/Seasonal/Christmas/ it is now perfect.

Thanks for your time,

Ed.

The techies inform me that the latest posts is now 7 times faster than it used to be. This is in terms of back-end speed, not how quickly it refreshes, so you needn't worry about having to have cat-ninja reflexes to jump to a latest post!

We hope this improves some speed issues some users have been having.
ok

Any speed issues this weekend?
Yes, ive been slower than usual. In fact work dragged on forever yesterday.

Thanks for asking after our wellbeing Ed.

;-)
Works fine for me Ed and has done over the weekend.
I use IE9 and not to everone's liking as some use other Browsers

Good to know I'm not the only one B00!
Can't just be me? Very slow again today - between pages & after "Submit"...
Good grief... 45 secs from clicking a "Latest Post" to actually getting there
Ah well, another Sunday & it's like swimming through treacle on AB...
Thanks for posting that Lie in King,it,s saved me the job.
All the morning,I have been been told "Internet cannot view the page"
This is only with trying to go from one thread to another.
Any help please Ed ?
Mine is very slow,on Google Chrome.
Snails pace here too, blue circle is the bane of my life here on Sundays - Google Chrome and all other sites are fine.
hi daftgrandad - hopefully Ed will light a fire under the tech dept tomorrow.
slow here as well with that blue circle spinning forever and taking ages to submit. Not a happy bunny.
AsLie-in-King says it's Treacle Sunday
Not sure what they do with the site on Sundays, is it cleansed by the Priest in the Confession Box ready for the next onslaught
If the Lie-in-king is like treacle, still dosen't stop him being first with the answer! LOL!
I've found it very slow today when I click on the items in Latest Posts (which tends to be the only place I look apart from the Unanswered section, or my own Subscribed posts). The little blue circle is taking nearly a minute in some instances. I'm on IE9.
Interesting on the slow thing - thought it was just me and my poor b/band speed not the site.
Definitely a gremlin in the works, or a GNOME!
Speed now seem to be back to 'normal' for AB. It often happens on weekends that there is a delay traversing the site.

I use Firefox as my Browser and my Broadband speeds very rarely drop below 6900kbps.

In fact I was going to suggest to the Ed that he should 'toughly tell the Techies to thoroughly titivate things'.

Ron.
