Where are all the birds

Not a twitcher, but can someone explain where the birds have gone? Its been a lovely day and have seen none in the garden? have noticed this for the past couple of days and its beginning to feel a bet spooky. Thanks

if its odd for you I would suspect a sparrowhawk is in the vicinity or another bird of prey.. but it might just be the time of year they often disappear in late summer returning in mid to late October

I've only seen magpies these past few days.

Rowan you're not gearing up for Christmas yet are you?

As rowan says possibly a sparrowhawk or they're in the countryside feeding on the late berries and such. They'll be back when they run out of food and weather gets colder.
