I have a few questions in similar matters.
How much stronger is a chimp to a human?
How much stronger is a silverback Gorilla compared to a full grown chimp?
How many chimps would it take to be able to take down an angry violent silverback?

I think you might get more of an answer in a chimps forum!
How much stronger is a chimp to a human? - At what age?

How many chimps would it take to be able to take down an angry violent silverback? - When you know the answer to your second question, divide the silverbacks strength factor by the chimps strength factor and add a couple for safety.
C-A-S, you are so practical...

I mean fully grown male adults at their peak strength, do you really think that this equation can be solved with simple maths? Surely there are factors to consider?
Oh yes Dozy - the chimps would have to be equally as angry otherwise you would virtually have to double the number of chimps.

(society - I do my best ;-) )

Thanks for helping count but that doesn't help my sons homework one bit.
Your son must go to a very strange school if this is homework. It's virtually impossible to calculate, as you rightly point out there are too many factors. I would ask to see the teacher who posed the question.

Sorry count it's not from school but it's my sons project which he wants to submit to school, its part of a story.
If it's a story then it's fictional and subject to artistic licence. Just incorporate what you think sounds plausible. No one in their right mind would be able to challenge you.

ill be honest, you're right but Im now intrigued and would like to know the answer.
The Silverback has the strength but the Chimp has the quickness, but I would think the Silverback has the edge, he is a very powerful animal.
Mollykins might know, she's doing biology.
Silverback Gorillas are massively bulky compared with chimps.
A fully grown chimp is 6-7 times stronger than a adult man. I watch `Monkey World`. I don`t know about Gorillas tho.
