it depends on how big your cat is mine is just over 5kg and she gets 30 grams of iams and one wet pouch per day (vets advice)

plus anythign she can beg or steal off me, which includes popcorn......

cans rarely over eat, although my two always act like they are starving!! why dont u try slighty bigger portions instead of increasing the times you are feeding her.... or just try to increase the biscuits....if you find cat is still hungry, try high protein meals because it will keep her fuller for longer eg, fish & chicken..... i often get the reduced stuff for mine. they like rice too, seems to fill them up.
go see your vet vibes
now i know why my 3 cats never left home
cat's are gannits and will overeat if you let them, stick to the recommended amount for her size/weight, you don't want an obese cat with health problems!!! My cat is very good and only eats when she needs to, but my mum's is always begging and is a fat bugger!!!

The cat never eats a pouch all at once usually no more than half, leading me to think it is not hungry but just eats for the sake of it.

Or is it saving some for later (making it last just in case)

Also after 6 months I have only seen it drink once

Mrs kev posted original post she didn't make herself quite clear, cat does eat everything but NEVER in one sitting
Eventhough cats and other animals have been domesticated for thousands of years, they still retain much of their wild instinct. This incudes eating when food is plenty so that they will not starve in the lean times which always follows times of plenty in Nature.

It is evident even in Humans, we crave foods containing fats to put on weight to carry us through the winters. Unfortunately, Mother Nature didn't reckon on supermarkets and such so we have to limit our chocolate intake (*sigh*).

My cats have a pouch each in the morning and another one at night, with biscuits on the side. Mine are big guys, all over 5kg.... but since one was diagnosed with kidney problems, they don't get snacks between (although I know very well they go in next door sometimes and eat their cats' food if any's left, but their cats do the same to me, so hey ho! The box of pouches suggests 4 per day per cat, what?! Cats are opportunists who will beg for food anytime, whoever comes in the front door in our house is greeted by a row of expectant faces even if it's not the right times. Mine don't drink much either and certainly not indoors, I keep a big dish of water in the garden (mostly rainwater and snow melt these days!) and they drink from that. I had one cat who would only drink out of a rusty shovel....and another who liked to drink out of the sink. They do need access to water if they are on biscuits.
Your cat sounds very like my old lady. Until a few years ago she was the only cat. So she used to "graze" - ie eat half or so of a pouch and leave the rest for later. Once I got my second cat (four legged dustbin), she cottoned on that she had to scoff it when it was put down or it was gone forever.

If you only have one cat, there is no "pressure" for food, so she is probably just a light and regular eater. Once you have five of the blummin things you see how there is a food thing constantly going on!!!!
my cat has 1 pouch of meat a day and her biscuits, I use Iams so she gets all her nutrition from that, it is recommended if feeding from tins 1/2 a tin a day, my cat isn't overweight, her fur is always silky and shiny (sign of a healthy cat) and has been on this diet for the last 20 years (she's an old bugger) She still has all her teeth and has never had any health problems. Perhaps yours isn't getting her nutrition from go-cat, Iams is a little more expensive, but you use less of it as it gives them everything they need, unlike go-cat which is just a cheap sub-brand. Try swapping for a few weeks, and if it helps, keep going with it!
I would use a better quality dry food, try Iams and you will find she will digest more of it so gets more out of it, therefore feeling less hungry.
I must admit that mine eat more expensive biscuits but they go a long way (Hills, Eukebana, Proplan etc.) I have to feed them all the same and since H got kidney problems he has to eat good qualilty senior food (as he won't touch the diet kidney food from the vet, would rather starve than live on that). There is a lot of nutritional value in the good biscuits, the cheaper brands seem to have a lot of filler.
Just another vote for feeding a better quality dried cat food. I use Hills. It works out cheaper in the long run.
Princess Merlin eats dried Iams and she has nice white teeth. Frankie eats the pouches and his teeth are not so white.

Frankie is a guzzler when he eats something that he likes. Unfortunately he changes his mind on a daily basis on what he will and will not eat.

Frankie is always begging for food, more so since he started getting steroid jags for his asthma, but Merlin isn't into begging - she is much too ladylike and civilised for that.
