Has anyone used any of the Pet Doctors clinics? Their prices appear to be cheaper than other vets so I'd be interested to hear anyones views on them. Thanks.

I hadnt heard of them, but have just done a google search, and see they have a lot of vacancies at various practices for veterinary surgeons, nurses etc etc.

Personally, I prefer to use a vet who I have known and trusted for years, and has known my dogs since they were puppies.

I would agree with using vets I had known but since we moved to where we live now my dogs have only had to see the vet for their bosters etc, and the practice we go to has several vets, so we haven't had a regular vet. I'm just interested as I was talking to a friend about spaying her dog and she told me that these vets. had done her (large)bitch for about half the usual price. I don't want to take any risks with my dog's health obviously, but I do think that a lot of vet's charges are exhorbitant and would be interested to know what other dog-owners think.
There are some practices that concentrate on vaccinations and neutering, so keep their costs down These started off like that, but have now expanded into other treatments. David Grant the RSPCA vet was involved in the beginning.
They seem to be keeping the practices small and local, unlike the big concerns that have taken over many vets in my area.

Thanks Lankeela, I've got nearly three months to consider it as she's only just come into season.
you can get tips on how to make pet carriers from this site:

Surbabu4 - why would I need a pet carrier? I'm pretty sure that you are not allowed to advertise on Answerbank.
We use the pet doctors and the only down side was not seeing the same vet each time, therefore we had to keep repeating the problem and got different answers.

However, we now know the best vet there and we just book and ask for an appointment with the one we want.
