Hi dusty, I think it is brilliant they are doing this, they are also going to try to reintroduce them into Wales as well, hope they do, they are beautiful creatures.

I'm not sure my self. I went to Canada last year and some of the woods look like the battle fields of the WW1 after Mr beaver had been there
I don't think they would be so bad here, the european beaver is different to the american one,


Successful reintroduction programmes have taken place in 24 countries over the last few decades with the UK the only place in Europe where they remain absent

Plenty of wild open spaces for it to be done, I really do hope it happens, some people even think it would destroy fishing, but as you know they are vegitarian, and it would help with introducing wetlands.
At the Cotswold Wildlife Reserve they had the birth of two kits in July of this year, so they have been introduced already , and everything appears to be going well for them.Good luck to them.g.
