ewwwwww.... sorry about this! my cat keeps gagging, like he's going to produce a furball or throw up. I put him out but he was desperate to come back in, so he's lying on the sofa. he doesn't look relaxed, although he's trying to sleep, but he gags about once every 15/20 minutes. he's been doing this for about 3 hours.

any ideas?

Could he have something stuck in his throat sara? We had one who had ben eating grass and got some stuck down his throat. It might be worth getting him to the vet tomorrow if it doesn't clear
Awww poor puss! Could he have got at something with bits of bone or fine bones like fish such as out of a bin, something that could be irritating his throat?

thanks bensmum, I will take him tomorrow if he's still at it.

thing is, he's sleeping like a baby now! I just know I'm going to have something to clean up in the morning.. I guess at least he'll be okay then!

hope you're okay x

hi Jenna, he only eats dried food at home, but it wouldn't surprise me if he's scavenged elsewhere! he's been quiet for about half an hour but he doesn't look happy. his breathing seems fine so maybe he'll sleep in off :o)
You could see if he fancies some grass as if he feels like he needs to be sick or get something out of his throat that may help him, that and water handy (and a mop).

Let us know how you get on xxx

thanks Jenna. Colin has moved off the sofa (at last!) and gone out, but I think I'll still take him to the vet this morning just be sure. his breathing is fine, he just looks very sad. I'll update later x
Good reasons not to own a cat.

1. A "half digested mouse" ?

2. A "half digested mouse" ?

3. A "half digested mouse" ?

Etc.

I've had mouse bits on the doormat recently. it's all a bit gross.

nothing beats bringing in a live bird though!
Sara, I love the name Colin !
