My Russian blue is now 57 days pregnant.
This is her first litter so i obviously want to make sure im there with her when she has them.
She keeps hiding in her box that i made up for her.
Last night i caught her shreading the paper at the bottom of the box.
She is avoiding being near any other animal or even myself. She will come down stairs when she hears someone walk in the door only for a quick nose then back upstairs. She does however sneak onto the bed in the early house for a gentle tummy rub! She hasn't gone off her food at all. How much longer do you think she has left? I know the average pregnanct is around 63 days but i know some have lasted as long as 71 days. Any opinions would be much appreciated.

think i would ask the vet to check her over if she goes over 63 days, not sure about cats, but first litter with dogs are generally early, or they are in my breed anyway. Do you have a thermometer to check her temperature, you can get the ones that stick in their ear now rather than the traditional version which is better for them and us! Dogs generally go off their food 24-48 hours before, but there is always the exception.
Both my cats first litters were early, the night of the birth one of my cats followed me everywhere meowing and I literally had to sleep on the kids bedroom floor when she went under the bed to give birth ! v uncomfortable but wonderful watching the litter being born. The other cat just ate her dinner as normal went under my other daughters bed and gave birth straight away !

As Jules says if you are worried get her checked by the vet.

And more importantly we want to see the cutesy photos when they all arrive :) Good luck

Cat has had a total change of character!
All weekend she has followed me everywhere.
She does the odd tiny meow now, which she never normally does! Yesterday she did start panting but only for a short period of time. Seems she doesnt want to leave my side!

The kitten finally arrived in the early hours of Sunday morning! Both mother and baby are very well!
Such a relief!
