I'm 8 months pregnant and need to take my cat to the vets this week to be microchipped, i know this may sound like a silly question but i'd rather be safe than sorry, is it safe for me to go in a vet surgery?

Thanks

It should not be a problem at all, but I would suggest that when if come to actually microchipping the cat, you ask the vet if he/she can get a nurse to hold the cat so you can stand well away.

It is quite a big needle and even the most placid of cats can sometimes have a nibble or scratch.

We are always happy to have nurses hold animals whenever the owner is unsure!
Can't see anything that would be a problem, you would not be allowed in if they were xraying anything anyway.

One thing to bear in mind, do not empty or otherwise handle cat litter whilst pregnant.
