anyone just seen on Crimewatch the item about the Staffordshire Bull terrier that was muzzled, tied to a tree and then burned alive? Can you imagine such wickedness? I despair of the human race sometimes.

disgusting. animal cruelty really gets me down. just like the idiot who threw a live rabbit into an alligator at a north wales zoo or something. what is wrong with people

I agree, I was gobsmacked. If someone was so desperate to get rid of a dog, they surely could have given it away. Even if it was dangerous, a vet could have put it to sleep which would have been far less cruel.

Imagine the pain and fear that the poor animal must have suffered, doing the same to the person who committed such an horrific act sounds good to me.

i agree. it sickens me that someone can do this to a defenceless creature.
I really do believe that the punishment should fit the crime!!!!!
OH MY GOD!!! I didn't see it and now I'm glad I did because I've got two staffies and it would break my heart if anythig happened to them. I was quite upset to read your thread, that is just so cruel. Poor poor dog!!!
Hi horselady, I was so disgusted last night when I saw them photos of that poor dog, whatever sort of people are responsible? The ba****ds need hanging up and shot! Like they said on the telly, the poor dog must have trusted the person to let them tie the dog up so close to the tree. Not forgetting the other dog, "ice" that lovely white german shephard that was shot as well. We have just had some nasty person who lives near us hang a cat from a tree so that little children saw it when they went to play on the park. Whatever sort of people are coming into this world.

Good to see lots of people feel the same as I do. I have to admire the RSPCA inspectors that deal with this type of case, they're so calm and professional, I could never do that job, if I came across a person who had ill treated an animal, I'd smack them in the mouth and get sacked.

The really frustrating thing about this issue is the insufficient punishment these people get! A fine or a ban is getting off very lightly and even if they do get a prison sentence then its only for a few weeks at the most! This is not good enough!!!
