I'm sure it's a lovely sight.

Once a jay came into the garden and tore apart a bag of peanuts.  That was the only rare visitor I've seen.

Lovely 🙂

Wow, lucky you.

Awww, smashing. 👍

Their chicks are so cute!!  Mr BM once found an abandoned chick in the middle of the road.  We tried to look after it.  On the second day of caring for it, he went out but it deteriorated and died in my hand.  I cried like an idiot.

We installed a wildlife cam a few weeks back.  We knew we had muntjac visiting regularly, but have also seen roe dear and a fox.  The fox is a very pretty lady who looks in very good health.  We get the odd pigeon falling into the garden from pest control so we put it out for her.  If the fox does not take it a buzzard often does.

Sounds delicious.

Have a look in the pear tree to see what's up there .

What an amazing sight! Quite a rare occurrence. You are very lucky! 😃

Barmaid, a pigeon felled by pest control may be toxic (unless they shot it of course).

I watched a pigeon falling from the sky, heading for my garden.

A sparrowhawk caught it midair and sat on my fence to eat it.  Didn't clean up after herself though

Barry, sparrowhawks move at some speed.  Had a pigeon pecking away in the garden. Next thing there was just a pile of feathers, I barely registered the sparrowhawk and the pigeon certainly didn't.

Canary, they are shot!  Don't worry, I always examine anything I find to see how it has died and bullet wounds are normally apparent.

I saw a peregrine take out a pigeon right above me.  Holy moly, it was amazing.  That falcon hit the pigeon from a stoop and probably killed it instantly.  We often see a sparrowhawk but more often we see the results of a sparrowhawk kill.  (A very neat circle of feathers)

It's quite amazing to watch a raptor fly at speed amonst trees
