A soft, damp cloth followed by kitchen roll or a dry microfibre cloth.

..., but make sure you wipe 'along' the wires, not across them as that can damage them.

I use a slightly damp fine-textured microfibre cloth. If really dirty, a small amount of alcohol (I use IPA...isopropyl alcohol) is useful.
As above, along (not across) the demisting circuit.

Agree with a microfibre cloth along the wires but would a spray type solution damage the wires in any way

Don't think I have ever cleaned inside my rear window! (I can still see through it!)
