I’m sitting in a garden in Sweden and have just seen two of the above birds, chuffed to bits doesn’t even come close :)

If I saw a black bird with red on it I too would be choughed to bits ;)

Seriously, that is lovely Vagus.
Vagus I had two here in South Germany 2 months ago; I reported them to eBird, an international bird watch site do you know it? worth signing up to.

Ha ha choux, I’ve seen those red legged blackbirds on Anglesey, and also the yellow legged ones up a mountain in Austria. Was choughed then too ;)
Will have a look at that, khandro, thanks.
vagus; This is the website, I have so far reported the pair of redstarts, a pair of ruddy shelducks, & the pair of mute swans & their 4 cygnets (which are growing at a rate of knots) on the river by my village.

Thanks khandro.
Do you not usually get mute swans in Germany? We saw a fair few in Sweden.
I’ve just checked my bird book and realise we saw black redstarts in both Germany and France a fair few years ago, had completely forgotten.
Vagus; It's not only about reporting rare birds, it's about recording a global picture of what is happening in the bird world. Every small fact can be of significance.

I came across eBird recently by reading this excellent new book;
