I just received this email from Sainsbury's...

Dear...
Due to a national shortage of dog and cat food pouches, we're sorry if you're not able to find your usual product at Sainsbury's. We're working hard to resolve this, but in the meantime we have plenty of cans and trays available. These are recyclable, so you can do your bit for the environment too. We think this issue will be ongoing through the year, but we hope to get them back onto shelves as quickly as possible.

Sainsbury's

I've noticed that a few brands are in short supply, prices are skyrocketing on Amazon ...not pouches specifically. I hope people don't panic buy pet food now...*rolls eyes*.

pasta you can always make your own with some canned tuna
That'll be an expensive diet.
Where are they made.?
Ummmm not to expensive if you combine with something dry aswell e.g. Some toast or digestive biscuits
I have a fussy cat.
Is this another problem caused because of Brexit , no doubt more to come ,
OK ummmm, I'm sure they will eat if hungry enough.
Jeez....stop with your obsession, Gulliver!

Tesco haven't got a shortage, nor has my local shop.

Tony, tuna isnt actually the best food for cats. Though sardines are ok...but cats need a varied diet.
Jeez..... have a day off ummmm. in fact have a week off.

I was joking when I mentioned the B word.
Both brands I buy are made by Purina*...varieties of one have been in short supply online since beginning of the year.
*made in UK I believe.
I think Ummmm ought to go on a varied diet.
OK pasta do you have sardines in brine or oil, I think brine is better
What a silly comment, Gulliver!
A lot of cat food comes from Thailand. As does some of our chicken curry meal deals ... read the label before you buy. Waitrose is British chicken, Sainsbury’s and Tesco, the chicken curry were both from Thailand the last time I looked.,...
That's interesting, I have found my usual Felix pouches in very short supply at several local stores last 2 or 3 weeks.
Felix was accepted most of the time in this house.

You can buy it direct. I bought 120 sachets a couple of days before Frankie died.

You can recycle cat food pouches - and many other things that are normally not recyclable- through Terracycle, if you have a local collector.
Can't say we've noticed any shortage of cat food. We buy Cat Pouches in Jelly and Go Cat dry food from Co-op, Lick-e-Lix cat treats from Pets Choice.

I did a bit of searching last night, and apparently a lot of pet food is manufactured out of the UK. Felix is owned by the huge Purina company, which has manufacturing plants all over Europe. They also do not label their products with information regarding where they are packed. So I suppose we are being affected by what is happening at ports, etc. It's in the news this morning on the BBC. Apparently pandemic puppies are also being blamed.
