I've heard this for most the day "Teacher Teacher Teacher Teacher". Pause. "Teacher Teacher Teacher Teacher" pause - ad infinitum.

Isn't it just wonderful. My local Great Tit bigging himself up LOL.

Anybody else been listening?

Blackbirds singing on a summer evening when the traffic has quietened, or picking at the apples I leave on the lawn for them, always life my heart. I also like to see them splashing about in the bird bath.

All I can hear is power tools - my neighbour is putting a new kitchen in. :-(
We have Swifts already this year! Come to nest in our eaves in the nest they built last year. A sign of good weather or blown here quicker than usual by the southerly winds we’ve been getting?
Not heard a Great Tit today, but have heard one recently. I love the birds. I still have long tailed tits feeding, but an absence of other birds as they are all busy nest making just now. They'll be back soon!

Poor you Shoota, I hope it doesn't take him all week:-(

That is amazing Zacs, so early. How lucky are you. Love to see them whizzing around, unmistakeable.
We have the haunting calls of the Curlew as they swoop over the moors. Its one of my favourite sounds of Spring.

LTTs are so beautiful aren't they Margie. Gorgeous looking birds. They sort of mutter quietly among themselves rather than announce their presence to the whole neighbourhood like the GT.
Here in Manchester we have the coughing of the pigeons and the squawking of the seagulls who sometimes come over on a day trip from Blackpool.
Yes, they are beautiful ladybirder. My favourite of all though is the blackbird. I absolutely adore those birds, they are so full of character. I have one that comes every day, he tucks into the dried mealworms and then hops over to the water bowl for a drink. I make sure it's always topped up for him.
It's been nice. Usually we just hear crows in the morning but now it's lots of other nicer sounding birds.

I know nothing about birds though so wouldn't be able to identify them.

OMG Aunt Polly. When I lived in the North Yorkshire Dales I heard them every morning when I woke up. The most wonderful sound, my favourite actually.
Do you mind me asking if you live in the NYD? I noticed you mentioned Teesdale recently and that reminded me of a group of us birdwatchers spending a weekend in Teesdale at the Langdon Beck Hotel. On the Sunday we got up at some unearthly hour, (February), freezing cold and dark, to watch a Black Grouse Lek. Amazing, the sound coming up off the moor in the dark was worth the effort many times over.
Yes, it's lovely to hear them all. It's good a lot of people who probably wouldn't have noticed before..
Yes the birds are all full of the joys of spring here - blissfully unaware of what we're going through. I always notice them anyway, lucky enough to have lots round me - loads of them 'at it' in the trees :-)
Always plenty of birdsong here as well as the sounds of the ducks, geese and an occasional moorhen too, not forgetting my nightly serenade from the owl - I am hearing them more probably because of less distant traffic noise.
Lovely to see the butterflies out and about in the sunshine too.
Yes it is, ~ sadly my neighbour hates birds and trees

Glad to see so many of us enjoying the birds and butterflies, something badly needed to cheer us up.
There's a blackbird mooching about in my border at the moment, chuntering to itself as they do, usually the last there before dark descends.
Poorclare, what an odd person, I can just about get someone not liking a bird fluttering near them but trees, I don't get that at all. Why?
We’ve just been on our walk and saw a yellow wagtail, I’ve never seen one before.
Lovely Sherr, they are a pretty bird.
Didn’t see it very close up but it caught mine and thing 2’s eye because it was flying so oddly.
Talking of seeing butterflies, I've seen a few in my garden lately. One I can't ever remember seeing, was a complete black one, about the size of cabbage white. Anyone know what it is called?
