These little charmers are called worms but ,to me, look like they are small mussels.
Thats off the menu in my home cooked Paellas

I think the link mistakenly used a photo of the Asian date mussel. I looked those up and appear edible and non toxic though destroys eel grass and some of the eco-system.
I enjoy mussels as wll. This worm really is a minute worm also called the 'ribbon worm'
They will, no doubt, need expert skills from the chef to make them edible, then.

Could do without them in our waters though, maybe they have a predator ?

Absolutely! Pufferfish in Japan as mentioned...

I don't know if I could 100% trust any chef!
