Why does my cat suddenly decide to bring his toys out into the garden.
He has a stuffed monkey and a series of teddies. He sits in the garden for hours, then suddenly go off and gets a toy and brings it out to the garden, meowing loudly as he does it, It's always monkey first then it's ginger teddy and grey teddy and so on... what is going on in his head ????

He is lonely?
He wants to play, interact with you..
I'm more concerned about the "toys" which our cats bring in from the garden when they've discovered entertaining diversions like a nest of mice.I don't, however, have a problem understaing their psychology, Iterele.

As a matter of interest, when did your cat develop an interest in "ginger teddies" and the like? That doesn't chime with anything I've seen over the years about a cat's natural interests. Have you been sending him to one of these progressive schools?

He is a rescue cat so his past is a bit traumatic. His original owner died. He was taken by a foster home where he escaped and spent 3 years getting back to his original home. He was picked up again and thats where we come in
Well done for looking after him, Interele. I hope he enjoys a happy life with you, and that you get pleasure from him.
...although I can't help thinking that ginger teddies are a little bit weird.

well, he has grey teddy, black teddy and tiny teddy
Maybe there is something in the Your Cat website. https://www.yourcat.co.uk/cat-advice/understand-your-cat/

My answer to your question is - he gets his toys out because he wants to. They are very strange and devious creatures, that's why we love them.
Oh I don't know v_e. On a red headed lass they can look quite fetching.
They're his friends , he wants to share the fun, like this puss.

There we go, OG.
awe he loves you and pondering why is that human staring at me' . is She jealous or what!
Maybe the toys are his "kittens".
That's what Mamyas link made me think of.
Yup, she wants babies.
If he was a female cat I'd say she was broody. Not sure as he's male. Has he been 'done'?
My cat doesn't play with toys.

I did watch a youtube clip of a cat being fed and it trying to get it's teddy to eat first.

What is weird about ginger teddy's?
Cat psychology? Good luck with that! :))
