Sqad I thought this might appeal to your sense of humour.
A Welshman and I were discussing different accents and how we sometimes have difficulty being understood here in Cyprus,so this morning at breakfast he said,
I went down to the games room on Saturday and there was a lovely new table tennis table,I said to the lad in charge I would like someone to play with me after some strange looks I gave up,next day he came up to me sir,sir I have found someone for you and showed me a photo of a Russian dolly bird named Olga,a true story,so I may go down for a game of pin pong.-;)

For some reason on my iPad I didn’t get a choice of where to post this ,by the way on hearing this story this morning my wife spluttered her breakfast down her blouse.

it's not just abroad. in a rather nice Chinese restaurant last week, a group on an adjoining table were ordering duck and beef curry, but being a bit northern, the speaker pronounced it "dook".

the waitress looked horrified and exclaimed "you wan' dog curry!?"

Yes sqad silk but not white ,the Welsh man hadn’t told his wife about this she was looking at us from her table as if we were going mad,so when I see him at breakfast I am going to wave my hand as if I am playing ping pong,that will set him off again.
