How often do you wash your dog as you shouldn’t need a conditioner
I've never heard of a dog conditioner, just shampoo. Do they really need conditioner ?
Question Author
well first of all Maxie has had pink feet and sorta never leaves them alone. went to vet yesterday and she said oh because he was like this for 3 years it could be anything. pollen, grass, food, any kind of allergy.

Harvey (my last dog) had a great coat so never gave me bother - this wee thing's coat is lifeless. anyway she gave me tablets, steroid cream to try out and a consultation and mentioned he could be bathed more often per se. So just wondered if the conditioner would make his coat anybetter and able to comb through. etc.
Question Author
I don't wash him too often as I was afraid of washing his natural oils off but now am thinking maybe if I washed him every couple of weeks I would be getting rid of the allergens
Question Author
mexican - no our conditioner is too harsh
IMO if you wash him every couple of weeks you will get rid of the natural oils.
Is your vet doing blood tests to find out the allergy? I mean he could be allergic to beef or chicken!! Just brush him every day
jj my dog groomer recommended GROOMER The Professional Choice for my JR. I often give him a squirt of it without bathing him and it smells lovely whilst also "gently refreshing and calming sensitive skin". Think I got it from Pets at Home and it wasn't expensive, perhaps £15 or near that.

well she is waiting if tabs or steroid cream works. Thanks all
Question Author
thanks LB - will give that a go when I buy it

wonder would Jolleyes have it - as it is the nearest pet store
Question Author
tbh - he has had the pink feet from day that I got him from a negligent owner. He wasn't used to dog food at all and vomited continuously and pooed. I then found out he had been fed on bread only.

However I persevered and he is doing well on the dog food.
JJ...I was recommended this for Sally. She gets grass pollen allergy. It's helped a lot.

That looks good Pasta. Same sort of thing as I'm recommending.

Jolleyes don't do mine jj I've just had a look but this is from Groomers website.

I have to admit I was a bit wary, as Johnson's is what I call a "cheap and cheerful" brand. But it really soothed Sally's skin. I have no trouble recommending it. I'll have a look at your link too.
Big difference in price eh Pasta! Makes you wonder if it's worth it. She did say it's the best but then she would wouldn't she.
Haha! I know. Sometimes you just have to take a chance on something...and what works for one won't for another. *sigh*
