My dear wife is convinced this is Borage, I think it’s not and is just an unsightly weed (well maybe not unsightly but not Borage), your thoughts please ABers?

It is not Borage, though it is related. I reckon it is Green Alkanet....Pentaglossis sempervirens. Albeit attractive when flowering, this is a very invasive weed, and you should get rid of it. It seeds everywhere, and has long black tap-roots which are difficult to dig out. Good luck!!!

Looks like comfrey to me

It is a devil to get rid of but if you put it in water it makes xcellent fertilizer

Thank you, I have just looked up comfrey and the description of bell-shaped flowers doesn’t fit. As I know zip about plants all suggestions are welcomed and appreciated as at least I then have something to compare to :-)
It's definitely not Borage which has star shaped flowers that hang down in clusters.

Yes it is from the Borage family, we used to call it forget-me-not

Thank you all, Green Alkanet it is and a pain in the behind it is too!
Alkanet? Might be an anchusa same family. Same *** pest hit it with roundup and any regrowth all summer. Then dig out the roots and it will still come back. The leaves rot down well though
No.....that has never done anything for me........oh!! I thought it said Bondage......sorry.
^ exactly, it's not the borage known as the herb - as I described the flowers yesterday. They may all stem from the same family.

Definitely alkanet - not borage or comfrey or forget-me-not!
I have both, forgetmenot and alkanet in my garden (love em) and as I suspected the alkanet was a perfect match, when I took a couple of samples to check.
The leaves of forgetmenot are much more linear, unlike the broader leaf of the alkanet.
