Do you think attacking an animal should be a criminal offence?

This poor police dog was stabbed, luckily he survived.

Yes..RSPCA take criminal proceedings out for abuse I think..
They are service personnel doing a job, so I can see no point why they should be treated differently.
Yes, I do definitely, so angry this failed in the Commons. This lovely animal saved his handler's life.

A brave dog, he should be afforded the same rights as his handler.
I love the picture of him surrounded by all his gifts and cards as he got better.

These dogs are amazing and are very important to the police forces. They should be treated the same as a police officer - and not treated as mere property that has been damaged.

There also needs to be stricter rules and longer punishment meted out to people who intentionally hurt, kill or kidnap/steal any animal. To anyone else, my cats are just that - cats. To me they are family and I would be devastated and angry if anyone intentionally hurt or killed them.

I agree wolf, stiffer punishments should be handed out.
Yes very much so, all animal cruelty laws need beefing up as does monitoring of slaughter houses and markets.
