My Shipoo still picks up everything from the floor when I walk him I've tried everything, to stop it, but today again he's had pine cones in his mouth, tissues, bits of plastic, luckily I caught it, before he swallowed them, because he would, it looks as though I will have to resort to a small muzzle, any recommendations please.

Oh no such a shame have you tried distraction technique - squeaky toy noise when he goes to pick something up and when he pays attention to you a treat?
Works 90% of the times with she who likes to roll foxpoo
Failing that a basket muzzle

the problem with the soft muzzles is that some of them do not allow the dog to pant
And my dog can still snaffle treats with his muzzle on. I'd try distraction as Islay said, it might work and could save you the heartache of seeing your pooch with a muzzle.

It can be so scary when they eat someone unexpected!
omg. *SOMETHING not someone!! hahaha!! My dog doesn't eat people!

Thank you all, yes Islay I have tried no joy unfortunately, most of the time when I walk him he's like a blood hound with his nose to the ground, and I'm not quick enough to see what he's picking up.

Anthro haha glad to hear it.
Baskerville plastic basket muzzles allow them to drink and pant but not pick up anything.

Update, I think I've solved the problem by letting him carry something in his mouth on our walks, today it was one of my gloves.
