He's being de-matted, poor boy.
And I get to admit I'm not a good groomer....:-((

Don't beat yourself up Pasta, I take my cat once a year to be dematted as she hates a brush near her
Question Author
I try not to. He's always been prone to matting, and I've usually managed to cut or tease them out. This year they just got progressively worse. His size will shrink by half!
We're lucky we have two ragdolls that love being brushed. It would be a nightmare if they didn't.. As Islay says, don't beat yourself up pasta x
Princess Stupid has long fizzy hair and a very short temper. I usually manage to tease problem knots out of her coat. During the summer I chopped a couple of knots off and she was like a kid with a dodgy haircut.

I don't clip claws unless they are not speaking to each other. I am always concerned that one will injure the other. Then I clip them and usually end up pinning them to the bed.
She who must be obeyed as had loads of dodgy haircuts and chest cuts otherwise it ends up covered in her food

Clipping Merlin's claws is risky. She has big hairy feet and by the time you find claw number one she is already getting stroppy.

Cats are actually more difficult to live with than dogs. Especially at silly o'clock in the morning.

Casper is ok food-wise...it all goes in his mouth. Or on the floor.
His problem is his bum...he likes to drag it...

Now I have to get through 12+ hours without feeding him. He's already meowing plaintively...poor starved cat.
Question Author
Wolf, you are so right about cats being difficult compared to dogs. They can be little ***.
The pet sitter who cared for Sally wanted to keep her...she's just so easy to get on with.
Pasta
I often wonder if Frankie is capable of going a whole night without a snack. If Casper is like him you will be driven mad by the loud pleadings.

I had to get up to go to the loo, Frankie was sleeping on me so he got up and escorted me to the loo and then herded me downstairs and into the kitchen.

I hope that both of you manage to survive this experience. ♥
