How does animal behaviour help to predict earthquakes?

I you look at the behaviour of the animals in the Asian Tsunami, their behaviour was typical of animals the world over, when it comes to natural events, disasters or otherwise, the short answer to your question is yes.

i think maybe something along the lines that their senses are more refined than us and they can feel a change, maybe hear the rumbling or feel the smaller vibrations before the actual earthquake happens. therefore they get anxios and scared prior to the earthquake which could help alert us to the coming event
