Do they not eat the algae from the inside of the tank? Why get rid of them?
Don't, they do a marvelous job of keeping the tank clean -since we've had snails in the tank the water has been sparkly clear and I've never had to clean down the inside of Algae
Snails are a good clean up squad, especially the rams horn variety and do a good job of keeping the algae down.
Introducing some clown loach/s may help keep the numbers under control.
As an aside......how do they get in there?
tilly -sometimes when you buy fresh plants for the tank there are tiny baby snails hidden in them.
Ah, I see. Thank you, Retrochic.
