How Do Cats Keep Cool?

I am really struggling with this heat. It is a nightmare. I have a 2 year old indoor female cat called Ria who I love with all my heart. I am wondering how she keeps cool. I have all the windows open and the cold water tap running as she drinks out of taps and not a bowl.I am just wondering how they keep cool.

My beloved cat Jojo is now buried under a rose bush in my garden. The bush isn't doing too well in our protracted local heatwave, but if I know anything about cats after nearly forty years as a vet I would say a warm car is a happy cat.
