I stupidly didn't realise I'd left my handbag in the living room when we went out earlier. When we came back, the pup had chewed a bit of my diary (fair enough - my fault), but I looked by his bed and there was an empty packet of nurofen. I knew there were 2 left, I found one in his bed so I'm pretty sure he must have eaten the other one.
We phoned the vet straight away who said to give him plenty to eat and just laughed about it and said he should be fine.
I can't stop feeling guilty but I've got to keep telling myself that at least it wasn't a full packet of tablets or a huge bar of chocolate.
Has your dog ever eaten something bad and was s/he ok afterwards?

My friend's dog chewed her false teeth!
Our dog ate a Sylvanian rabbit. After an expensive operation we found out what it was that had made her so ill!
Yes. Our labrador Jumbo ate a huge bar of Toblerone and managed to eat the carcass of the turkey one Xmas. No ill affects whatsover.
My BIL's poodle always goes into my handbag I sometimes forget to close it. He was after the extra strong mints, got a whole packet chewed before we saw him. He was Ok but f**ted something awful.
My boxer pup ate a whole packet of propanolol tablets. I totally freaked and rushed her to the vet who gave her something to make her sick. She was neither sick nor any calmer! iron clad stomach I reckon.
My Fathers dog eat his wallet once, money and all!
my yellow labrador ate a balloon and in the garden later that night - ! true story, the wind just inflated it and we all laughed !
my lurcher keeps trying to pull your socks off so i have to tell everyone to keep their shoes on or he will scoff them.
No, Callie hasn't eaten anything bad for her, but that's cos I learned to be careful with a previous dog!.....her name was Sally, a friend gave me a bottle of vodka as a gift, I foolishly just left it in the corner of the kitchen on the floor, and went out for a couple of hours, only to return to find that Sally had knocked over the bottle, the neck had broken, and she had drank about half the contents!.............she was very drunk!........walking sideways and stumbling!.........she had an awful hangover next day too!............LOL.............
Apart from less serious snaffling Meg ate a frozen loaf of bread, caused havoc with her stomach, another large vet bill!!
My cat, Sooty, has a penchant for that thin, metallic, christmas ribbon. One year she managed to snatch a longish bit from under the tree... We only realised when we emptied her litter tray and her poo was strung together like a string of beads!!!
Max once got through a 2.5 kilo tin of Rose's in about half an hour. Apart from a severe case of diarrhea (excuse the spelling) he was ok after a few hours
What dates did the dog eat from the diary?
When my friend got her puppy I bought her a book about dog training. She got up a few days later and it was shredded all round the living room!
One of my dogs (my beautiful Keela who died approx 5 years ago) was usually a great girl but on one occasion when she was young she went a bit crazy and in one afternoon she managed to devour the arm of a sofa, 2 pot plants, 10 evening primrose tablets, 1 tampax and 3 nicotine patches!
Our cat Max had a toy on a piece of elastic. The toy had been separated from the elastic and we thought we'd put it in a "safe" place until daughter spotted a long thin "thread" coming out of his rear end. We were advised not to pull it out but to take him to the vet, where he stayed for about 3 days, charmed all the vet's nurses and cost us over £300 and they didn't even operate
Lucy,my 10 month old Ridgeback cross eats everything she can find including a plastic bag full of some sort of curry sauce, stale bread and my shoes if I don't keep a close eye on her. No ill effects at all.
My dog found 'something' one day on the garden. I still don't know what it was that he had eaten, but after much vomiting and the vets he was well pleased, as he was prescribed chicken and rice for four days! Lucky wee puppy!
When my dog(mini dachshund) was a puppy, i accidently left open the cupboard where the liquid washing tabs were. She only managed to pierce it but within 15 mins she was so sick all over. Phoned the emergency vet and they just said to keep her drinking. she was fine in the end. she did have very shiny poo!
Yep- he ate out of the bin as a wee puppy which contained chillies...... He sh1t the full length of the living & dining room!! Just kept walking and sh1tting in a straight line!! Lol poor wee soul! His two back legs were covered- had to carry him at arms length to the shower!!

He done a poo the other week with my dads orange foam earplug in it!!!!!!!
