i recently litter trained both by kittens really well and have had no accidents etc, however both my kittens are nearly one now and have just started going outside. I really want to start to do away with the litter and make them do it outside but have only just got cat flaps installed and they are really not very keen on going outside for longer than necessary. Should i move the litter slowly nearer and nearer the door? or what should i do. Please help as my kitchen is getting stunk out!!

There was a thread here not long ago where this question was broached and I remember several people advised moving the litter tray closer and closer to the door (catflap) until eventually it was the other side and in the garden.

Thanks Artful, will give it a try and see what happens.

This is a tried and tested method, once you get the box outside, sprinkle a few bits of cat litter in the bushes or a suitable place pref away from the back door and eventually they will get the message.

What i did with mine is put it outsie the patio door and left the window open for her to go out, i showed here where it was and she used iu, Eventually i moved at and placed some littler where i wanted her to go. now she goes outside.
