can all animals and insects become immune to stuff and do they pass on the immunity to their offspring

you need to be a little more specific as there are umpteen number of species on earth.... however, the fact that humans can adapt to certain situations or illnesses would lead me to believe that most animals can (if you reverse the question, it is just as poignant ie;do animals pass on allergies to their offspring)... but again you need to be more specific ie what species and immunities to what in particular...???
