I'm getting really confused as to what you should and shouldn't give your guinea pigs - via fruit & veg.

What do you give yours and how much a day?

My guinea pigs are only 7 weeks old and I'm still learning so any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks jane

Thanks vib.
There's so much on the net where some will say yes to cabbage and other say no. Same with grapes and others.

They're munching on tomato, carrot, cucumber and a little apple atm..
I also give them a hand full of nuggets once a day.
Is that enough?

We've got two boys, Goldie & Spike.
Goldie - because he's gold and my oldest daughter named him and Spike - because he's spikey, black with a gold stripe over his back.
What about yours?

I know what you mean by eating ad eating
Mine don't stop...bless them.

a guy in a restaraunt in Cusco, Peru told me that to get the optimal taste you should feed them plenty of peanuts and believe it or not spiders!
Question Author
Salted or unsalted 999? or do you mean peanut butter?

I think I'll pass on the spiders.....

Question Author
I've yet to try those.

Thanks hannah :-)
Please do not give them lettuce, this will give them an upset tummy plus it gives them the [ runs ].
Question Author
Thanks garner,
Is it just iceburg?
Definately no lettuce-bad for them.

Mine loved apple, baby spinach, carrots and cucumber.

Carrots are esp good as they are hard and are good for guineas to knaw on and keep ther teeth healthy.
Put a carrot down, and they will knaw a bit a a time.

Thanks kira.
I just get a little worried about over feeding.
enjoy your 2 we have 2 males called puffy and biggie and one has a sweet tooth and one doesnt so thier food varies a lot but they do love thier fresh greens and dandilions too but like said before keep an eye on them and also take any uneaten food out of thier cage as it tends to rot very quickly and can upset thier tummies good luck with your two x
Question Author
Thanks babybop :-)

Just wondering, do they need to get exercise every day?
Is it ok just to miss one or two days even though they still get plenty of human contact?
