Alfie is medium sized but although he's not a big eater being neutered he's prone to putting on weight.. Would feeding Quorn or including Quorn in his diet be a safe and healthy alternative to meat.

I wouldn't think that would be a wise idea, but you could check with a vet. Hills make a very good dog food especially for neutered dogs, which gives them all the correct ingredients they need for optimum health, without the dog putting on weight. Hope this helps.
Dogs need meat in their diet, either in its natural form or in a complete food. If your dog needs to lose weight, then decrease the amount of food, if necessary add vegetables to the diet to provide bulk, and most importantly increase the exercise. Although you can get a vegetarian diet for dogs by nature they are not vegetarians.
I second everything lankeela has said, there are plenty of foods on the market for keeping your dogs weight down.Plenty of exercise is the main answer.g
cant see why not
I wouldn't eat Quorn myself let alone feeding it to Max

Thanks all. Alfie does get plenty of excercise already between 1 1/2 to 2 hours a day minimum. The diet for neutered dogs looks good. I want to cut down his calories so cutting down the meat and bulking out his meals with veg sound good also.
Trade the dog in for a squirrel....they love quorn!
He's an animal and carnivorous, why don't you just give him regular dog meat?
