My second staffie question..........
Now the Christmas season is upon us again i was thinking of shopping around for an artificial tree as i've been told that the smell of fresh wood will cause a staff to chew - is that right - or can i take the chance with a favoured real tree?????

Ah the joys of Christmas with a dog, every year I put up my tree and spend ages making it look lovely, about an hour later my male Jack Russell thinks I have brought the outside in and has a pee on it, once this is cleaned up he will have one of his mad moments and runs around like a nutter, gets tangled up in the wires from the lights and then the tree is spread across the living room floor. I have resorted to a fibre optic tree of about 12" that runs on batteries and is way beyond Jack Russell reach. so it is up to you but I wouldn't spend much cash incase the same happens to you, dogs just love tinsel and bright lights.
I would avoid real christmas tree's, not because the dog may chew it but because of the pine needles that drop off them.

I know of a dog that got one in its eye and was blinded, a rare occurance maybe but we all know that the needles end up everywhere!

An artificial tree is safer.
