Can Cat On Rilexine Antibiotics Be Given Laxapet ?

Hi,

 

4yr old neutered cat hasn't toileted for 4 days, since being admitted for an infection & being given antibiotics, currently on day 3. Is peeing, eating & drinking fine.

 

Can I give him a tiny bit of Laxapet or should I just take him to a vet who - after checking him over - will likely give a laxative anyway ?

Phone your vet and ask. If he is not helpful, use a different vet in future.

Probably least helpful answer you've ever given me, Barry. I have a valid reason for asking before contacting a vet, not one I can disclose publicly. I have no say in what vet is used.

Our geriatric cat gets constipated and the vet recommended some tuna oil. Drain a can of tuna in oil and give a couple of teaspoons twice a day

Posted during the evening when I couldn't ask a vet, & with the cat already been thru' the mill with a vet stay last week, I was hoping to avoid having to take him back. Thankfully he's come good.

I'm fostering him. Everything needs to go thru' his vet before I can take him to my local (no, he can't go to his), can be blinkin' time consuming. I wouldn't have left so long before taking him last week, but my hands were tied. Unless an emergency.
