My little dog was sick around 16 times last night from about 10.30pm to 4.40am and he was of course absolutely dehydrated. I took him to a vet at just after 5am. The reason for him being so poorly was he had drank some sea water when down on the beach earlier in the day. I didn't know it could be so dangerous so I'm writing this as a warning to others who also might not be aware. A little probably won't hurt them but too much can kill a dog so when I read that on the internet I decided to get to the vet straight away. Cost me just short of £500, Ouch! We're both going back to bed now as neither of us have had a wink of sleep. Night night. xx

Think you're right. I'm onto the vet now as he's so lethargic..

Vets all busy but calling me back asap. But ... guess who's just walked over to his water dish and had a drink!

Right been to vet, they have kept him in and put him on a drip to rehydrate him. I have to collect him tonight when they close. If he's not rehydrated by then I will have to go back to the all night vet with him so he can continue his rehydration.
Well done, ladybirder and to SJ and wolf. He is a lucky to have you as his owner, you do so right by him. I pray he can home with you tonight x
Hope your little dog is better soon, and you catch up on your sleep. What a worry for you

It's actually quite frightening at how such a minor thing like drinking the wrong water can be so serious.
Many dog owners would have put off the 5am visit to the vet and risked losing their friend.you

Best wishes to both of you.
Fingers crossed, ladybirder. x
Everything crossed for a speedy recovery for the little fella. x

He's home, for now. Such a happy boy, so pleased to see the people he knows and loves. His tummy is very sore with all the vomiting so he's got some medication for the pain, he's hydrated and has had some food and a drink this evening. Fingers crossed we can both get some sleep tonight.
Thank you all for your interest in my J. xx
Looks like he is on the mend which is good.
So pleased he's ok Ladybirder. He's lucky to have such a loving mum. I will be very careful in future with Tora. ( Nothing to do with ToraToraTora).
