Dead Cat, Happy Ending

A photo of a dead cat lying on a grave in the local cemetery was posted in my Nextdoor group yesterday.
A couple of distraught cat owners went to check it out, their cats had been missing.
There was a lot of speculation - had the cat gone to die on its former owner's grave? Had somebody placed it with it's dead owner?
It's a stone ornament. I would have expected anyone to check the deadness of a pet before posting photos on the media. It was a very bad photo.

This made me gasp as I started reading. Thank goodness for happy endings.
Good news for the prospective owners but just feeling the cat would have told anyone it was a stone ornament or had been dead a very long time. Could it have been someone's idea of a joke?

I don't think so, roo, the poster seems mortified. If it was a joke it's in very bad taste
Oh good, sounds like a genuine mistake then.
I have just been watching the Cadbury Chocolate's Gorilla advert. I was sure that it was a real Gorilla for quite a long time.

I know that the death of a family member is a serious subject, but this Facebook post is totally surreal and funny

That must be a wind-up, wolf! Made me laugh anyway
Don't stone cats have the potential to cause confusion within an unintelligent community such as yours ? I say we should ban them.
