Shamelessly following on from Plowter's thread - why don't you see calcified white dog poo in the streets any more? There used to be loads of it when I was a child.

Nobody ('cept me) gives their dog a bone anymore....
But if you want some, I can save you a load.

It may burn......
marrow bone.
they all eat Fido - so as already suggested, no gnawing on bones.

Our two get bones on a regular basis
You could have phrased that OP better, too ROFL
Our dog has a bone from the butchers now and again.
Well, I hope the responsible owners are all picking it up now, as they can get on the spot fines. Although there are still some dirty ******* who don't bother.
Some say you shouldn't give dogs raw bones as it can lead to constipation. I say that is complete rubbish. I regularly get fresh bones from the butchers for my hound and one look at my back garden and the last thing you'd call my dog is constipated.
Now and again is good, IMO, too often could be a problem. My girl gets one a fortnight roughly...
SpikeyBush, //Some say you shouldn't give dogs raw bones as it can lead to constipation. I say that is complete rubbish.//

no its not "rubbish" we feed our hounds bones and if fed in moderation there isnt a problem but if you feed too many they can suffer from severe constipation. When the comes out can be white and very hard and dry, it can be so dry that when it hits floor it can be powdery and will fall apart.

When we feed bones we usually try to five them some raw liver to help the bones through, it works a treat.
ooops! I missed a few words but I'm sure you get the drift.
Mine only have a marrow bone every two weeks to clean their teeth, too often and they get diahroah, raw food makes them really ill. I have also seen dog fed bones on a regular basis that whilst they have clean teeth, they have worn them down.
A lot of the bones I give her Ratter end up buried anyway. Buried in the strawberry patch I found a Pedigree Dentistix.
