Greetings each.
I think I have a Lynx!
He's been coming around for about a week now, usually in the evening, but now seems to have taken up residence here.
I took a couple of pix of the thing and sent them to friends. One of them now informs me that I have a Lynx (or crossbreed of one) on my hands. :-o
I checked on Wikipedia and all the signs are there.
He's very lovable and affectionate though now he has settled in. As long as
I keep feeding him I trust he will remain that way! LOL.
Does anyone know anything about these creatures, or have any experience of them in a domestic situation please?
He's currently costing me a small fortune in cat food, although my other two moglets seem OK with him.
Be good!
Cheers.

got any links?

See what I did there? Okay, here's Wikipedia

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lynx

" They also feed on a wide range of animals, from white-tailed deer, reindeer, roe deer, small red deer, and chamois, to smaller, more usual prey: snowshoe hares, fish, foxes, sheep, squirrels, mice, turkeys and other birds, and goats. They also eat ptarmigan, voles and grouse."

So feed it Rudolph
Can you post the photos?
I would guess at it being a Maine Coon breed of cat.
Photos please.

It's a Maine Coon, google it.
Indeed, Maine Coon or a Norwegian Forest cat, this is a lynx :-)

Bum! forgot IMG tags don't work, try http://i442.photobuck...9/F1tzer/180cc584.jpg
A nice looking animal, but not a Lynx!
without a shadow of a doubt - a maine coon - lucky you
a beautiful cat..but..someone could be searching for it..it looks healthy. It
will continue to come round as long as you are feeding it.
I'm with the rest - it is a 'normal' cat. Maine Coon and Norwegian Forest cats are much bigger than a normal sized domestic moggie.

It is a beautiful cat and has lovely colours in its coat. You may be one of many food stops for the cat - they are devious little b****rds.

:-)
Agree with the others, he's a Maine coon and a lovely cat. Lucky you to have one come and visit but he does look as if he's well looked after so is probably just an opportunist (like most cats!)
What a lovely creature - both of them. I think if it was a lynx squidge it would have eaten your cats.
Personally speaking I think a lynx would be easier!

Here's my main coon, otherwise known as "Evil Cow"

Greetings each.
I thank you all for your contribitions.
After considering your replies, and speaking with the Maine Coon Society of Great Britain, I am happy to conclude that I DON'T have a Lynx.
I intend to keep my new-found monster friend as he is so loving and affectionate and also gets on well with my existing two "house" cats: Well he would anyway as he is the same size as the two of them put together!
Thanks to you all.
Stay good!
Cheers.
Ahhh bless you squidgelet :-)

Now see i did my research before buying my MC, "friendly, and affectionate" I read with glee. "yay" thought I, " a big giant ball of fur to sit on my knee and contentedly purr". Sadly, I got an evil spawn of Satan who only deigns to sit on my knee for a minute a day tops, and tolerates me stroking her until she's bored- then she bites me....

Enjoy yours, you lucky bugger, lol.
Lucky you, he is a beautiful cat. I hope you have a happy life together xx
