Does anyone know of a pet insurance compay that gives you a good deal? I have a 7 year old male dog and a (nearly) 1 year old female dog (both Wheatens). The male costs about £27 a month now and the female is not insured yet. I will also probably need legal fees for them as the male likes a fight, not maliciously, but in case 'something' happens!
Many thanks. (going to look at Comparison websites now, as well!)

Thank you, have got female done for under £12! Will see if I can reduce the male now and cancel the moggy, Husband ran over the other cat, who wasn't insured and cost £1000 to fix but I need to save money!

If the moggie goes outside it may be a good idea to have insurance. As you have found out they are not too good with cars.

Did the cat survive?

Hi wolf, yes cat survived. He's 14 now, sitting here wanting fed again! I got him free as a kitten so to pay £1000 to fix him was a bit much! He heard the car as he waits outside for it and ran straight under the wheels. Callous husband said if he'd known how much it would cost, he'd have reversed back over him! I think he was joking (I hope!).

Had to deal with pet claim recently when Cat had shattered leg & had to be pinned & splinted for nearly 6 months, Sainsbury's Pet insurance very good.Ron.
What lovely dogs you have, had to google them tho! I have a bearded collie insure with helpucover, used to be Pinnacle, and they were good when he tore his cruciate ligament. Bill was nearly 4 grand overall and i paid 15% of that but the vet said some companies had limited payouts. They paid within 5 days of receiving claim from vet unlike some other companies. Spoke to someone who waited over 3 months to settle dental claim with the company that uses a red phone. Let's hope you don't need to make any claims, I've got about 3 grand of cover left on the annual policy so told my dog to be more careful. Also have covered laminate floor with rugs as that could have been the cause of his doom. Also have cat, he's in the doghouse for killing a bird not the rabbits scoffing my neighbours veg patch - I rely on their hard work and surplus food!
I'm with PetPlan, not the the cheapest but I am pleased with them - they cover the pet for life with long term conditions whereas some others will only pay out for the year. They pay up quickly and are easy to contact.
excuse the intervention, wheaten. Has rover shown up, boxtops?
No DT - couple of possible sightings, we are still in sit-and-wait mode now. Thanks for asking.
fingers and toes stayed crossed then......talk about a holiday!
It's very peaceful here at the moment.....
Our elderly dog is insured with Direct Line and have been very good & quick when making a claim. Our second dog is insured with Sainsburys and we are just in the process and getting our new puppy insured with them too - their cover & excess are very good.
I saw a toothpaste advert for dog yesterday in some posting yesterday but I forget where - was it something like Hobbit or like that name. Thanks
