should the clutch feroda plate still move about once you have bolted the pressure plate up to the flywheel.mine is still moving about therfore think it would be hard to align the gearbox shaft to the spline of the clutch plate.clutch and pressure plate look identical to the old one. this is on an 02 plate 1litre ecotech corsa.i would be obliged if anyone could help before i try and put the gearbox back in. thanks

no it should not move it could be the wrong clutch
As Ditchy says it could be the wrong clutch, however sometimes clutch suppliers fit compression clips on the edge of the clutch to allow the clutch to be fed through an aperture in the bellhousing that earlier models had. Once the clutch has been bolted up these clips can be removed allowing the pressure plate to clamp the driven plate ("feroda plate"). As ditchy says it should not move once all the bolts are tight. Check a\round the edge of the clutch for 3 U shaped clips

thanks for the replys but no there are no clips that i can see and also can the clutch feroda only go in the one way round with the centre boss to the outside and the perfect flat to the inside it certainly looks that way thanks
The higher part of the clutch plate (the part that contains the springs) is normally the gearbox side. The flat side is normally the flywheel side. Most clutches have markings on them to advise which way around they fit (sometimes in German!! which would read Getriebeseite = Gearbox side)
