The one where you knit a square of a patchwork throw each week. The first issue is 99p and includes the magazine, a dvd, 2 balls of wool and 2 knittng needles.
Think it might be Simply Knitting Magazine. I haven't seen the ad but that's a brand new one that's out, aimed at "people like Catherine Z Jones, for whom knitting is the new yoga"...eh?
The Art of Knitting ..first isssue on sale for 99p with a DVD ,two balls of wool ,needles and the basic instructions on how to knit .
Yeah I know the one you mean - I wanted to know too. Just seen the ad and it is 'Art of Knitting' - you can subscribe and get loads of free gifts at www.artofknitting.co.uk which is what I've done as I can't find it in the shops at all!! It does allow 28 days for delivery but expect it may be quicker.
yes, the web page the art of knitting.co.uk...be careful though as there are 90 issues, which adds up to about 270 over the year! I was going to subscribe but realised it was madly expensive in the long term, and I believe there are only one set of needles and two balls of wool included.
Shame, I thought it was too good to be true. Also, the free gifts are only available to people ordering from issue 2, so read the small print.
Beware of how many magazines you subscribe to. At £2.99 for each copy of which you get 4 per month then pay £5.99 per binder (how many editions do they hold?) you are guaranteed to spend a fortune. I decided after weighing up the cost and space they would take up to go onto Amazon and see what knitting books were available. Having read various reviews (all very favourable) but one by a craft teacher who describes The knitting answer book as like having a teacher in your pocket, I ordered it. At just over £5 it's a bargain. I believe it doesn't contain patterns but that can only assist in encouraging you to find something that you really want to make and in a colour you want rather than going with the flock, so to speak. :-)
You can get most of the help you would need to start knitting on the internet with You Tube or written for freeeeeee and loads of patterns from the likes of Lion Brand and Ravelry

that way more to spend on your project
