I had my Sky Q dish, box etc installed today but the engineer said that I needed standard broadband as the sky mini box won't work and the main box will keep dropping off.

Has anyone else with 5g broadband had a problem with this? Little Tigs dad reckons that changing the DNS setting will resolve this but I'm not sure who to believe...him or the Sky engineer?

Who supplies your broadband?
Question Author
3, Barry.
So you have your Sky connected to mobile broadband?
Question Author
It's currently connected to 3 5g broadband.
Okay - I thought you meant you had 5Ghz broadband down the phone line or cable rather than 2.4Ghz, not 5G mobile broadband.

Sorry, no idea about connecting Sky to 5G mobile broadband. Hope somebody can help
I connect my Sky Q to 3 mobile broadband - it's 4G here, rather than 5G - but (as long as you have a fast, stable connection) I see no reason that Sky Q won't work with 5G mobile broadband.
Found this, seems you need to make a phone call https://www.threebroadband.co.uk/swindon/help/hints-and-tips/sky-issue

Thanks both!

I'm now wondering whether I'll have no choice but to change my broadband.
Phone 3 first, they may have a solution
